Van Wert, Ohio – StateWide Ford Lincoln, the Van Wert Booster Club and the local community raised $6000 for Van Wert High School’s Athletic Complex at a recent test-drive event as part of Ford Motor Company’s Drive One 4 UR School program. For each of the over 300 Van Wert area residents who test-drove a Ford or Lincoln vehicle at Van Wert High School this past April 23rd, StateWide Ford Lincoln and Ford Motor Company donated $20, with the funds going toward the Booster Club’s pledge for the growing Athletic Complex.
Since the program’s inception in 2007, Drive One 4 UR School has offered 275,000 test-drives at more than 1500 events to generate over $5 million for High Schools nationwide. Locally, StateWide Ford Lincoln has held 4 events and has raised over $23,000 total for extracurricular student programs at Lincolnview, Crestview and Van Wert High Schools.
“We are thrilled that so many people from the local community turned out to support the Booster Club. The Booster Officer’s and parent rep’s hard work certainly paid off! We are proud to be part of the Drive One program, where participants have the chance to take a fun, casual drive in one of our vehicles, while lending our students and High Schools a helping hand,” said Steve Munroe, General Manager of StateWide Ford Lincoln.
“To find creative ways to fundraise is imperative,” said Tracy Keber, Booster Club President. “What they’re doing is a blessing for our students and it says a lot about who they are as a company. The money raised on that Saturday in April will help our continued support of the Athletic Complex.”
